GTA V / FiveM "Out of video memory" error: how to fix
Updated 2026-11-06
This means the game wanted more graphics memory (VRAM) than your card has available. Lowering what the game loads solves it in most cases.
- Lower Texture Quality to Normal or High (not Very High).
- Lower Resolution or turn off Resolution Scaling above 1.0.
- Turn off Extended Texture Budget and "Ignore Suggested Limits" in the advanced graphics settings.
- Close apps that use the GPU, such as browsers with video, streaming software and overlays.
- Update your graphics driver.
- Restart the game after a long session; memory builds up over time.
