How to get better FPS and stop stuttering in FiveM
Updated 2026-11-06
Roleplay servers load a lot of vehicles, clothing and map content, so FiveM is heavier than regular GTA V. These steps help most PCs.
In-game graphics settings
- Lower Population Density and Population Variety.
- Lower Shadow Quality, Reflection Quality and Grass Quality first; they cost the most FPS.
- Turn off MSAA and use FXAA instead.
- Lower Extended Distance Scaling.
- Use fullscreen mode instead of borderless windowed.
On your PC
- Close Chrome and other heavy apps while you play.
- Set the Windows power plan to High performance.
- Install GTA V on an SSD if you can; it reduces stutter a lot.
- Keep your graphics drivers updated.
- Keep at least 16 GB of RAM if possible, or increase the Windows page file.
